Why such a project?
Looking at current environmental problems like climate change, nature loss and air pollution, we realised that most of these problems are global and interconnected, which makes it very complicated to solve them. Logically the only way to achieve success in solving these problems is a connection of the solutions. The concept of sustainable development provides a framework for an integrated way to tackle these problems.
But to be true, most efforts to achieve sustainable development stay theoretical. Why?
But most important, we want to show the people behind the story!
But to be true, most efforts to achieve sustainable development stay theoretical. Why?
- Our main problem is the lack of knowledge! In many cases we are not aware of the framework conditions, which influence the interconnection of environmental problems.
- We often don’t know much about our neighbouring countries, and although we produce the same problems (for example air pollution) we mostly do not work hand in hand to solve them. Instead, we rather concentrate on local issues.
- We often have no idea how to implement sustainable development. Due to the lack of experience exchange of successful projects, there is no evolution in our learning process.
But most important, we want to show the people behind the story!
